Lauryn Hill Receives Sentence

A few weeks ago the word on TMZ was that ex-fugees member Lauryn Hill was charged with tax evasion, owing the federal government just under a million US dollars.

The musician did pay her debts off but was shortly sentenced to 3 months imprisonment. Cold world huh? Not really considering the fact that initially, she was facing a three year sentence. Following a probation plea, she paid her $900, 000 tax. But lucky Lauryn may be out in as soon as a month.

When Major Lazer dropped their new LP, Free the Universe, this week, it included the twerk stepchild "Bubble Butt." The song's freewheelin' dancehall bounce was coupled with verses from Bruno Mars, Tyga and Mystic. With none of those guys on the Coachella bill this year and Tyga enjoying some family time at Disneyland, Diplo and his cohorts had to get resourceful. They called on 2 Chainz for the guest spot.

Beyonce kicked off her Mrs. Carter World Tour last week in Eastern Europe. The day of her concert in Bratislava, Slovakia (April 19), King Bey decided to surprise two random fans with tickets to the show. It was the first time the "Bow Down" singer had ever been to the country.

Beyonce jumped out of her Mercedes van and gave two girls the shock of their lives when she handed them two tickets to the gig at Slovnaft Arena. Beyonce also hugged and took photos with the girls. It was caught on video with some saying it was all for publicity, but who cares! It was a really nice gesture.

Snoop Lion 420 Festival Gets Busted by the Cops

The cops shutdown Snoop Lion 420 Festival, an impromptu smoke-out taking place in a Hollywood Hills mansion this afternoon after neighbors complained about traffic and noise levels.

Snoop arrived just as the cops were clearing out the party and was "incredibly cooperative," according to TMZ. The great event, in honor of today's unofficial national marijuana toking day, began early at 11AM and was expected to go all night... or until the weed ran out.

No one was reportedly ticketed or arrested.

Snoop drops his new reggae-tinged LP Reincarnated under his alter-ego Snoop Lion this week on April 22. The LP is his twelfth studio album. It was produced by Major Lazer and features everyone from Drake to his daughter Cori B and pop singer Miley Cyrus.
